Choosing between a disposable shaver and an electric shaver is not such an easy task. Each type of shavers will provide certain benefits and have some shortcomings. But the best way to compare is to put both of them into action. And this is what we did. We decided to compare between the 2 types of shavers to know if using an electric shaver is really cheaper on the long run or whether disposable shavers are really worth the hassle.
Disposable razors are very convenient because they are cheap and light. They are the perfect to use if you are on a short trip or if you have no access to electricity. Spending some time on the beach or in a camp can be a problem if your electric shaver goes out of charge. But disposable razors can come in handy.
The cheap models: As mentioned before, the most important feature of disposable razors is that they are very cheap. But quality comes with a price. Most of the time using a cheap razor means using more shaving foam or gel and having more skin cuts because of tugging. There will also be a lot of stray hairs left. Maybe these models are good for people who don’t have a lot of facial hair or tend to shave less often. Sometimes they will even rust even if you keep them dry and they will have to be replaced every 2 or 3 week because they will go blunt.
The more expensive models: These are way better. Some of them have the option of having the blades replaced or have moving heads to cater for the curves and lines of your face. These are of better quality and will last a longer time.
Choosing best electric shaver over a disposable one can cost you a lot more money of course, but most of the time, it is totally worth it. These shavers might not offer a very close shave like that you get from a disposable razor but some of the most advanced models will do so. The best thing about an electric shaver is that it is hassle free. There is no need to use any shaving gel or cream and you can use it wet and dry. Moreover, most of them have a trimming option for the side burns or if you don’t want to shave everything off. At the same time, you will probably spend more time cleaning the unit than that you would normally spend cleaning a manual disposable razor. They are however faster and more convenient and on the long run you will be saving a lot more money.
Using an electric shaver is a more convenient and cheaper option than using disposable razors and blades every day. Although the initial cost is higher, but you will not be replacing any parts or buying any gels which means that you can save more on the long run. However, if you travel a lot and need something light and convenient then a disposable razor might be your answer.
